Wednesday's Daily Verse

"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath.  Ephesians 4:26 NKJV

Anger is a God-given emotion, just like love or joy. There are certain things that God wants us to be angry about, like sin.  However, once we begin to experience this emotion of anger, we need to watch ourselves.  God calls us to be angry without sinning. For example, when you are in the car driving and someone cuts you off or won't let you switch lanes at rush hour, you might get angry.  And that anger is ok, however, it is not ok to lash out at them or those in your vehicle because someone upset you.  We are not responsible for the actions of others, only ourselves.  Shake off the anger and pray for the offender.  It is like my father-in-law says (as he looks at the one who wronged him), "I just want to know who I am praying for."

Also, make sure you do not go to bed angry.  As stated above, God gives us many emotions.  He doesn't want us to always be angry.  If you go to bed with unresolved anger, chances are you are not going to rest peacefully and that anger is going to build.  With this mounting anger, the temptation to sin will also escalate.  Make time to pray and ask God to ease your anger and show you the best way to move forward.

Sunday's Daily Verse

"8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

We are only human.  And being human, we fail, a lot.  How great to know that it is not what WE can do, but what God has done for us to allow eternal life with Him.  Salvation is a gift freely given by God.  It is God's grace, mercy, & love for all mankind that compelled Him to send His Son to be our Saviour.

Saturday's Daily Verse

"If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God's words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything.  To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever.  Amen." 1 Peter 4:11  HCSB

So often we do not stop to think about how our words really affect the kingdom of heaven.  We say things "off the cuff" and with harsh or belittling tones.  This is not how God wants us to treat one another.  Even things said in private are said in the presence of our Holy Father.  I would like to challenge you (and myself) to allow God's power to help us in difficult situations.  Allow God's grace to be abundant in your life and encourage one another.
Good Morning!  I would like to take the time to tell you about myself.  My name is David and I live in the beautiful northeast Georgia mountains.  One of the most important things in my life is my personal relationship with Jesus.  I am an active member of my church where my Dad is the pastor and my wife is children's director.  Some of my hobbies include riding my motorcycle, playing golf, gardening, playing pool & ping pong, taking walks with my family (wife & dog), and amateur carpentry work.

My wife enjoys bargain shopping and will on occasion add posts regarding good deals we happen to come across.  She is by no means an extreme couponer but does enjoy saving money for our family.

So this is my first ever blog and all I can think about is where is my dog Boo. I hope he is not getting my brand new shoes. I have no cue why dogs love to chew on shoes so much, I guess they think people need to go around barefooted like dogs do. Well peace for tonight I hope am not shoeless tomorrow.
